General Membership Meeting to be held April 22, 2023

This year’s HOA general membership meeting will be on Saturday April 22, 2020 at 10:00am and we will be meeting at River Community Church, 36367 Perkins Rd, Prairieville, LA 70769.

Note that the 2023 membership fee of $100 is due by June 30, so you may bring your check to the meeting, pay online, or mail.  In order to vote at the meeting, you must be in good standing, which includes having your dues paid through 2022 and no outstanding rules violations.

To pay online, please go to: https://paylease.com/registration/pay_portal/64375687/STD?vpw=1366

Use the HOA website, click “paid on line”, create account, and for unit use lot # or address.  Please note paylease charges fees for credit or debit card usage.

The Lakes of Oak Grove Homeowners Association is responsible for maintaining the standards of appearance, safety, and value of our neighborhood for the property owners.  The board must plan for future repairs, replacements, expenses, legal fees, etc. that may arise from managing the neighborhood.  This mission is made possible through yearly homeowner dues.  Payments that are past due restrict the association’s ability to fulfill its mission and maintain the neighborhood in which you live. We understand that there are several outstanding violations that exist, and we are working on this.  To better fulfil this obligation, the HOA Board has decided to utilize Quality Management Solutions under a 1-year contract to aide in violation inspections and enforcement of the violations.

At the General Meeting discussion for the raising dues for 2024 and following years will take place.  Inflation has increased over the years, especially this past year, and dues have remained the same from when the HOA was formed in 2005.  The expenses for the year of 2022 were approximately $15,500 and the same are budgeted for 2023.  If all 138 homes in the association pay their yearly assessment, that would bring in a total of $13,800.  The lack of surplus makes it difficult for repairs of the front sign and lighting, purchase of new equipment such as cameras and license plate readers, neighborhood activities such as parties and dumpster rentals, future pond maintenance, etc.  Cost of utilities, lawn care, routine pond maintenance, and the proper insurance have increased and will continue to increase with inflation and other factors which needs to be considered.

At the General meeting discussion of the Covenant and Restriction and possible changes and additions will also take place.

We hope to see you at the general meeting. In the event you cannot attend and you wish for your vote to be counted, you can complete the attached proxy form and submit to board@thelakesatoakgrove.com  or text 225-289-3550.
